Here's a general question - what's the most efficient way to get tagged images in a Piwigo gallery visible in a Google image search. We have about 3000 images loaded to our gallery - nearly all tagged and titled (we're catching up) - but haven't found any of them on Google image searches.
I have read that alt-title is important, but I don't see an option to batch-apply that.
Anyone have any tips?

Alt and title html tags are important. They are automatically applied if you have the title field for the image entered so you should be fine on that since you say you have titles for nearly all images. Also, it's best if you named the images something descriptive like ex. "red-sunrise.jpg" instead of generic "DSC0439.jpg" before uploading.
Do you have a Google webmaster tools account? Be sure you have that setup and use plugin RV_sitemaps in Piwigo to create a sitemap of all your images, then submit the sitemap in Google webmaster tools.
Hope this helps

Thx Viper. The photos were uploaded with the generic file name (we upload about 12 at a time) and I titled them using Piwigo's batch manager, didn't seem to help. Thing is, I see a ton of similar images in Google of the same places with generic file names, so I'm a little perplexed.
I'll try the sitemap thing.

Also it'll just take time for google to crawl and index your pages. Could be days, weeks, or months. Who knows but must be patient.
The sitemap will help and start building backlinks as well.
