how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

hi!
I need to set permanently the dimensions of thumbnails to 128x96px to improve the loading of my site, because when I test my site with gtmetrix.com it says that I have not specified image dimensions.
So there is a way to tell to search engines that all the thumbnails are 128x96px?
I use the Luciano theme.Thanks a lot

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

Hi,

It's probably talking about the alt & image size atributes :-

alt="logo" height="76" width="300"

You want this set for all the images on your page

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

Hi
you better should go to the administration part of your Piwigo, Option->config->Size and change the dimensions of the thumbnails

Because changing the html size will only resize visually, and not change the size of the downloaded thumbnails

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

Wherever you specify an image in your html.

For example I use stripped theme & place my logo in the 'page banner'

Here I specify the following

<a href="/"><img src="/logo.png" alt="logo" height="76" width="300"></a>

I also  use additional pages and specify the alt & size options on those pages if I use an image

w3schools give a good example here :-

I don't need  to change the size of the thumbnails because they are already 128x96px,but search engine says that I don't have specified the image dimensions

ho lol
you want what a better rating like you were at school ?
Indeed it would be better, but you won't get any better performance changing that

I have 32.000 photos and so  also 32.000 thumbs on the site, and  having 64.000 images without  dimensions attributes surely is not a good thing for pageranking despite 30-40.000 visited pages that the site reaches every days ;)

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

for page ranking... Okay...
Let's be clear here: you want traffic, you need to identify pages thought meta-data and content, and be sure you're visible enough with links in pertinent websites

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

As flop states, your looking at small issues

For better seo , make sure your title/meta description are good & relevent. (look at plugin meta & title)

Make sure your keywords are in your titles etc

Spend time generating quality backlinks

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

I already have traffic.from march 2013 to today the site reaches 5.325.888 page seen
I need to improve pageranking because is only 1/10 now,and the missing thumbs dimensions is the major problem.other problems come mainly from the social plugins and  I can't deactivate them, and from the luciano scripts(I'm trying to customize the Montblanc XL theme that I think itdoesn't have javascripts problems)
you can find many links in the most relevant electronics sites and forum even in vietnam!

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

Your looking at the wrong thing :-

According to Google:

PageRank works by counting the number and quality of links to a page to determine a rough estimate of how important the website is. The underlying assumption is that more important websites are likely to receive more links from other websites.

More links = better page rank

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

Are you arguing I'm wrong? Of course many website will say that's important you know why? They sell services based on that !
You can have a 0 in page rank and be top on Google results and having a lot of trafic
http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307 … evant.aspx and whatever you can found by using "Page rank useless"

It's a tool, and like any tool you need to be smart to interpret the results, not acting like a machine

Well Whatever... you should take a look at the Option->Template page, and looking at thumbnails.tpl of your theme

Re: how to permanently set thumbnails dimension

Flop25, the reply wasn't to you , I was indicating to salavtore that missing image size will not influence his pagerank.

Apologies if I was not clear.
