Sorry if this is a n00b question.  I searched the forum archives unsuccessfully.

I have a symlink in galleries/ to a tree of pictures.  After 'sync' all worked fine.

Then I noticed a few pictures were upside down; I used Gnome Image Viewer to edit those pics and save them back to the same locations (overwriting the files).  The mtimes changed.

But now, after a new 'sync', I still see the OLD images in the gallery, unless viewing a magnification which was never viewed previously.   The thumbnails are still upside down, but if I 'download' the image, I get the new image.  So it seems like 'sync' did not notice the updated picture timestamps and flush stale caches.   And yes, I did un-check "simulation only" in the sync!

What is the solution?
