Hello
is the left menu completely expended? do you have similar interactivity issue (upload page, user management...)?

Re: Backend - can't create Album

So the javascript is not loaded. Several plausible causes:
-web browser blocking it
-server can't load them
(piwigo can't create them
for the last two ones open the Dev console (F12 on many browser) and go to Network and check for any HTTP errors

Re: Backend - can't create Album

in the Backend some things works fine, deleting Fotos or Album work fine.
but creating don't work
but creating from the lightroom extensions work also fine

with F12 i found

SCRIPT5009: "jQuery" ist undefiniert
Datei: admin.php, Zeile: 311, Spalte: 1

SCRIPT5009: "jQuery" ist undefiniert
Datei: 1bhxqzx.js, Zeile: 24, Spalte: 2

1bhxqzx.js seems to me to be a strange file ;-(

Re: Backend - can't create Album

when doing F12 go to the Network Tab (not the Console one)

Re: Backend - can't create Album

This may be the same as I had. The nets installer doesn't set the permissions correctly:-

Re: Backend - can't create Album

If the server is correctly set, the chmod should be 755 folders and 644 files
"644 means that files are readable and writeable by the owner of the file and readable by users in the group owner of that file and readable by everyone else.

755 is the same thing, it just has the execute bit set for everyone. The execute bit is needed to be able to change into the directory. This is why directories are commonly set to 755."
and the owner should be the own running the server or your client id

If the server is correctly set, overwriting by FTP should also apply the correct permissions...
But not all the hosting are good...

@vikozo please don't mess now with the permissions ; let's be sure that's the cause before introducing major security flaws. So check the Network Tab of the developer toolbar but also check the serverlogs

Re: Backend - can't create Album

Well @Flop25 let's be clear about this I have now done 5 installations of Piwigo on disparate hosting platforms and each one has suffered from this problem. The first time I ended up paying to a ticket and Patrick changed the all permissions to 755 as I describe. Over and over again I hear the mantra "If the server is correctly set". Do you want user to have a trouble free experience installing Piwigo? If the servers on all the hosting platforms are not "correctly set" (which I seriously doubt) then why the h**l doesn't the net installer check the permissions and set them correctly?

@vikozo: @Flop25 might be sensible suggesting you don't mess with the permissions but how about checking them and getting back to this thread with what you find?

Re: Backend - can't create Album

@CharlieM
Thanks for this Feedback too... i will check it - - - -  99% ist 0711 except _data with 0755

@flop25
i used the Netinstaller tool so the tool itself created the structure and did it wrong, has nothing to do with the Server itself

have a nice day
vinc

Re: Backend - can't create Album

@vikozo: Exactly what I found. I would suggest you follow @Flop25 excellent outline to set the permissions and see if that resolves the issue.

If that works perhaps you can add your voice to my feature request at:-
