Hello/Hi/Greetings,
I would like to generate image previews as I changed the sizes. But the manual generation in batch manager is not working for me. I think it worked before but now it does not and I have no clue why. When I click Apply action it just pops an error in top of the screen saying that "x photos can not be regenerated". Automatic generation while browsing works.
The logs does not seem to show anything useful.
Do you mind helping me with this issue, please?

Hello,
I encounter the same issue here. I removed the watermark and then needed to regenerate the multiple sizes. It does not work. I tried to delete the Thumbnail size (which was not affected by the watermark) with batch "delete multiple size images" which ran perfectly. Now I am without resized pictures at all and no option of regenerating them.

Hopefully someone can help.

Hello there
i think i've found the issue
if you open the dev console of your web browser you will see something like :
blocked loading mixed active content « http://fotky.domsky.cz/i.php?/galleries … xload=true »
because the call is made in http while browsing on https
Can you open a ticket for that issue in https://github.com/Piwigo/Piwigo/issues please ?

I agree - I can see that. Piwigo is loading the thumbnails via http when browsing https. I will create a ticket for that.
But even though the error shows up, the thumbnail gets generated and displayed. I do not get how this issue is connected to the batch manager not generating the thumbnails? Sorry if it is obvious. :)
Thanks

i saw that when using the batch manager: the batch manager just calls all i.php?xxx urls to generate the pics

Ah now I can actually see it. The error shows when the batch manager is started. It did not show up in Firefox, but only now I tried it in Opera and it poped up.
I am going to create that ticket now.

I have found that Imagick was the major cause. After forcing Piwigo to use GD (in Localfiles) the photos were regenerated. However the message was still that a number of photos could not be regenerated. However after some time they became available anyhow. This might be caused by the high resolution of the original images.
I use Piwigo to make a digitalised photo archive. It gets scanned images that can go up to more than 100 MB each. My guess is that the batch process generates a result on the page (X photos regenerated, Y photos could not be regenerated) while the process is still running in the background.
Maybe this information helps in resolving the issue.

I guess that you are running plain http as you have the server only local. So that is a different issue.

I think that you're right Vitis with these being two different issues. Mine is solved with GD and patience. I hope yours will be solved with the bug-ticket. As far as I am concerned the topic may be closed.
Good luck!

I came across this thread and was able to reproduce the issue.
