I'd also like to know if there has been progress on this issue in recent years. I'm a new user evaluating Pwingo to see if it's suitable for my purposes.

It's important to me - and I imagine many potential users - that Piwigo is interoperable with other software. I need to be able to download an image and have the "Tags"/"Keywords" included in the file's metadata so that it can be imported into another program. Is this possible?
