php 8 and piwigo13 upgrade error

Hi,

When I upgrade the php version from php7.4 to php 8 from Cpanel, my website becomes a white screen.
This error is made in both versions piwigo12 and piwigo13.

If I upgrade to php8 first, my website page turns white anyway. I can't update piwigo.

If I upgrade piwigo to 13 first and then upgrade to php8, I still get a white screen error.

What steps should I follow in order so that I can update without errors?

The hosting company fixed the problem, thanks.

Re: php 8 and piwigo13 upgrade error

Hello,
I just met the same issue because of the BBcodeBar plugin being activated. I uninstalled it and everything is perfect. (PWG 13.1 and php 8)

Re: php 8 and piwigo13 upgrade error

I think some plugins are conflicting. Some of my plugins are not working when I upgrade.

Re: php 8 and piwigo13 upgrade error

Hello,

I'm having the same issue, my website only displays a white screen after updating from php7.4 to php8.1. I am running the latest Piwigo (13.3). I am hosting my own server.

Piwigo Website: https://bosaz.com/pics/

I was forced to update per Drupal, which is working fine.
Drupal Site: https://bosaz.com

How does one disable plugin when one can't access the admin page?

Any help is appreciated!

Re: php 8 and piwigo13 upgrade error

I tried php8.0 and still didn't work, so I ended up moving back to php7.4.

The only plugins I have are Cookie Consent and LocalFiles Editor.

So I assume Piwigo is still not compatible with php8.0 and php8.1?

Re: php 8 and piwigo13 upgrade error

Hi, I'm having a similar problem with PHP 8. Though I do Piwigo (13.3.0) shows up, several plugins are broken: contactform, contact1menu, advanced menu manager, image preview. As far as I can see now.

Going back to php 7.4 restores these plugins. Except new uploaded art doesn't get Image Preview.
