Hello Piwigo people :)

Hey, hey,

My name is Helmuts and I'm from the UK.

I discovered Piwigo (somehow I want to type Pivico instead) this afternoon when I was checking my cpanel quick installations in order to create a royalty free image gallery.

Tested it and Hey!! I love it :)

This is the result of my first 6 hours working on it from 0 >> http://www.artforweb.co.uk

well, it s almost 2am and I'm very sleepy... good night guys!! ... will continue tomorrow.. have to clean categories, find the best way how to make all the missing meta tags, work on the header, upload more photos and so on :)

cheers!
Helmuts

Re: Hello Piwigo people :)

good morning Flop,

I am a .... well, I really don't know how to describe that :)

My daily tasks are quite different and I do:

* graphic design - working with Photoshop (of course) and Corel Draw (old school)
* web design + hosting for my clients >> company website: http://www.mediatower.co.uk
* run several websites >> the project: https://www.outlived.co.uk (UK Classifieds)
* seo
+ ... I am quite deep in adult industry..

Well - this is a project for the piece of my mind and maybe (hopefully) it will grow in something larger :)

my table:

And hey!! Thank you Piwigo team for this great CMS :)

Regards,
Helmuts

just a thing flop...

just checked out your gallery...

you might want to rethink leaving copyrighted images in it - the European laws are very tight on this issue (at least here in the UK => £5000 per image+ other "bonuses").

the law can't control forums, facebook and G+, but we are responsible directly for the stuff we keep on our websites ;)

I was talking about the images here:
http://www.planete-flop.fr/gallerie/ind … tegory/295

... Today an image becomes copyrighted immediately somebody has created it...

anyway, have a great day.. maybe I am too paranoiac :)

You are right that the laws are strict both in Europe and the US, but I'm just guessing here that usually such images may get "removed" from eg. Facebook, and a copyright owner might either ask the website owner or the hosting provider to remove such content first, before taking any legal actions (easier, faster, sometimes even less expensive). But this doesn't have to be the rule, and we all just have to be careful. :)

I know it's an old thread, but still the best place to comment on your gallery (http://www.artforweb.co.uk/) - I'd just like to point out that you're using CC 3 (Attribution required), but have added to the website description (Attribution is welcome but not required. Enjoy, Helmuts Meskonis). So it might be easier for the users of the images if you could check to clarify that. I think CC1. I know that CC0 requires no attribution (https://wiki.creativecommons.org/wiki/CC0), but I'm not sure about others.

Re: Hello Piwigo people :)

@KalEl thank you once again :) .. went for CC0 (public domain).. I suppose otherwise the material wouldn't be really free.
