Hi
I just wanted to point out my experience in relation to Google ranking.
When I first started using Piwigo I used the default upload wizard , however this renames the images giving them a random string of characters. EG - galerie/upload/2016/05/17/20160517142708-61e26c5a.jpg Unfortunately this proved disastrous for getting images into Google. Despite having suitable wording around them, Google was very slow to list them
I soon learnt that by using ftp upload, I could retain the name of the image and also control the name the album name. EG aerial/_data/i/galleries/Somerset/Glastonbury/Glastonbury_Tor_md15156BlackWhite-xl.jpg Google is now much quicker to list them and ranks images much higher.
So I just wanted to say, please never remove the ftp upload feature , but also if there is a big upgrade, perhaps it might be an idea to allow the file name to be retained.
Thanks for all the good work,
regards,
Jon
