Hello,
I've changed the default sizes available in my gallery, regenerated them with the batch manager. In the FS I can see square and thumbnails pictures, but those 2 sizes aren't available in the gui, and I don't understand why! Am I missing anything?
Any idea? Thanks.

Can you show a screenshot of what you mean?
I don't know what 'FS' is.

FS= file system
In the screenshot, left upper corner you can see the available sizes; no square and thumbnails (that's for all the images I have), but on the server I can see the images ending with "th" and "sq", for example: 20181112122345-a8b3b6ff-sq.jpg and 20181112122345-a8b3b6ff-th.jpg.
I forgot to say that I'm using the imagemagick library, but at the beginning, when I installed piwigo, I only had the GD library.

square et thumbnail and others depending on themes and plugins are not available from that menu, since that menu is made to allow the display of other sizes depending of the constrains of the client/visitor. the thumbnail one is already available and the square is used only by some themes

But before they were available in that menu! And if they are on the file system, why not making them available in the GUI?

"But before they were available in that menu!"
?
i don't remember that
"why not making them available in the GUI?"
because that's not the same purpose ; there are sizes for the display and 'technical' sizes for themes
and they are still available

At the beginning I've tried several themes; in the meanwhile I've played with the sizes with the batch manager, because I was in need of different sizes from the default, and this includes both square and thumbnail size. If I remember well those sizes where still available in the GUI of the Sylvia theme before the last batch operation to regenerate them with new resolutions.

Under this point of view it makes sense, but then it should be the same for all the themes, Imho. Don't misunderstand me, I don't want to l look polemic, I'm using stuff made by others following their own needs and thoughts, I know that; I was just thinking that if those resolutions are already in the file system, there could be a reason to make them available. EX: including them on another website without the need of styling them with html once again. Just my 2cents

The purpose of Piwigo is to be a self contained image gallery. If you need image hosting, there are much better solutions for that.

I need both, that's because because I've chosen Piwigo among the other solutions, after deep and thoughtful considerations, followed by tests, which lasted for some weeks. And 'til now I'm satisfied about it.

Hi again Kinmen
I do understand that someone might need it. Actually a plugin can be coded where special sizes generated on fly could be set

Hello. I've found out that those two needed sizes are available in the gallery view, therefore I can grab them from there.
If somebody could write that plugin, it would be nice, but if I'm the only one who needs it, than it's not worth the effort. Thank you anyway :)
