Allow users to upload images without seperate thumbnails

Hi folks - This may be a feature I have not figured out yet, but I have a client who wants me to build a custom slideshow for their group using their photos.  I have created a user name and login for them, and I want them to be able to login and upload their images to a private folder.

Here's my issue:  Currently, PHP forces them to also upload a thumbnail, but this would not work because these people won't have the time or knowledge to create a proper thumb.

I would like them to be able to log in, then upload images per the parameters I set, and then later, I can go and generate thumbs for their gallery.  Anyone know how to set this up?

Best fishes,
Steve Cherry

I'm not using this feature, but I believe thumbnail upload is optional. After the big picture is uploaded, it should be fine ...

Re: Allow users to upload images without seperate thumbnails

Hello steve,
When you upload a picture, PWG ask you to upload a thumbnail.
If you go back to your home page (on the top right corner) the picture is effectivly uploaded.

ok, I agree, there's no message to indicate that the picture is uploaded.

Re: Allow users to upload images without seperate thumbnails

If you want to put an other message to explain to your user that the uploade went fine, you can change the file :
[root]\language\en_UK.iso-8859-1\common.lang.php
You find inside : $lang[‘upload_advise_thumbnail’] = 'Optional, but recommended : choose a thumbnail to associate to ';
You can customise this entry to something like ... = ‘Picture uploded. You can go back or choose a thumbnail to associate to ‘;

And then, you have to generate thumbnails in the according Administration page
