Because Admin menu became longer and longer in the current version.
I guess you will enjoy to have a reduced menu in admin.
In 1.7 we introduced tabsheets.
In 1.8 I would like to go further with Accordion menus.
If you don't understand what I mean, please just move your mouse on Guitar, Bass or Drums on this page:
http://jquery.bassistance.de/accordion/demo/?p=1.1.1
That means:
- jQuery will be included as standard in Admin pages
- Admin will have a predefined template/theme for Accordion Menus
- jQuery will no longer be added by a Plugin (like Panoramas).
So for users, will you pleased to get Accordion menus in Admin?
For Team members or anyone, do you see any problem to have jQuery active in Admin?
Thank to reply.

It's a good idea, but I think we need more accurate grouping of menu entries and some pieces of menu should be always visible.
The script fallbacks cleanly with no JS

Accordion menus is fine for me.
However, I prefer the first example : tabsheets on which you have to click on
There is one obvious advantage
Now that you've got
Rent one bear
because I can command the effect,
rather than
Guitar, / Bass / Drums
which slide on their own on mouseover, which I find a little bit confusing or at least surprising as I cannot controll it.

No problem for me.
1 - Script acts only for some class (class="ui-accordion" for example)
2 - jQuery (JS) will only be available in admin.
=> We will have to be alerted in case of Security threat on jQuery (and Smarty as well).

Ok I received that point, I will try to show you the result in place and you will decide between click and mouseover.
