I think if we wait for the implementation of all these features we'll never release butterfly.
Perfectly right. That's a long debate, but I think no software editor can release with constraints {features, date, quality}, you have to chose only 2 of them, either it is {features, quality} or it is {date, quality}. I do prefer to release with {date, quality}, unimplemented features will be added in next version.

My personal opinion is we should release it as soon as possible... It's annoying to develop so long and not be able to put it live
I understand this very well also. The 1.7 is far too old anyway.

Can we decide on a tentative date ? z0rglub are you available to build the release ?
I wanted to propose 2008-09-15 but as VDigital proposes one month later, I suggest 2008-10-01 for 2.0.0RC1.
I doesn't mean we can't create a Butterfly 1 before (nothing was released on trunk since 2007-04-07 with 1.7.0RC2). Would next tuesday suit you (2008-09-05) ?

The sooner the better :-)

I didn't write that...

Release Candidate? I agree but I would like an internal official target date for the final release.
(Without it I disagree).
Let say October 10th for example.

I am much more interrested with an official target for final release and October 10th was for it.
Do your best.
Thanks.

Note to readers/testers: RC is for testing only! (CSS aren't stabilized and some bugs can exist).

Additional information: I recommand to publish the RC under the phpWebGallery name and the official under Piwigo.

In the first post of this topic, I have added a list of mandatory issues to "fix" before releasing Butterfly :
- new theme for public interface, same as admin interface
- new website

I am not ready for it with Butterfly.
Stripy I thought you had one.
Could you commit it?

Which one are you talking about ?

A new theme is on going and I am going to commit a part of it.
You will discover soon yoga/Sylvia.
Sylvia is not exactly as Admin.
It (she) will not include jQuery and Accordion menu.
(Currently Sylvia is not fully coded, and Sylvia is waiting for set of icons).

Note: The Piwigo Team shares a secret "Why Sylvia is the new theme of Piwigo?".

Sylvia was applied on Piwigo Butterfly demo and Piwigo Photograph!

Piwigo Butterfly demo: I changed the Logo to the Piwigo orange one (and not the coral one as I did in a first time).

Do I ?
I think I misunderstood something ...

I mean ... Sylvia's graphic charter is ... different from what I understood you had chosen. And the colors are ... strange ...

I committed some additional lines of code tonight.
And I haven't completed Sylvia.
And some of your requests are not possible to build in Sylvia (alone)...
Template extensions will provide more, later.

Just not to forget. I think we should not deliver with the RC/final release the plugins under svn... Some do not work, some work just in some cases, etc...
