Problem with displaying image at upload

Dear all,

Sorry if this topic is already existing / I am at the wrong forum for this. But I need your help.

My Piwigo version is up to 2.4.3. I got Google Chrome. I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (11.4). But all this, isn't helping. I also installed and reinstalled some plugins, activated and de-activated them. Helping against a problem I've got that's annoying, it doesn't cause to big of a problem for the guests I recieve, but for me it's something I want to get sorted.

The problem is hard to explain and because my print screen isn't working well atm I can't really show you what I mean. But hopefully by explaining it the way that is possible I can get tips/advice on how to solve the problem.

The problem is as follows. When I am uploading a picture, size barely 1 MB. I am seeying a weird icon, like something is missing (you know a empty space with a thing in it). Like some software is missing, but what I don't know. It's very annoying. I hope you can help.

Greetings

Re: Problem with displaying image at upload

Hi
You see that wierd icon : this should means 'image missing' indeed. But where ?
Do the images upload? Does Piwigo register the picture? Did you check on the upload folder?

Re: Problem with displaying image at upload

Think indeed something is missing.

When I upload the picture I can see that the image is been 100% fully uploaded.
And when I re-check it later in the normal gallery I can see the picture. So, it's only when uploading.

I do not know if Piwigo registred the picture. Where can I see that?
Not sure what you mean with upload folder?

Re: Problem with displaying image at upload

On http://112goverwelle.nl/hulpdiensten/in … tegory/206 I can't see the second thumbnail. And when I open the direct URL http://112goverwelle.nl/hulpdiensten/i. … e2b-th.jpg I get :

Warning: fopen(./_data/i/upload/2012/05/15/20120515170408-b9bc6e2b-th.jpg) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/12gvrwl/domains/112goverwelle.nl/public_html/hulpdiensten/i.php on line 344

Can you tell us if you have the file upload/2012/05/15/20120515170408-b9bc6e2b.jpg ?

Re: Problem with displaying image at upload

If I follow the exact order you gave me, then I find the file.

In the beginning when I had this problem, I could see the pictures in the maps, but just a few weeks ago I also started to not be able to see thumnails of pictures. Probally because I tried to upload pictures even if I couldn't see them/

Re: Problem with displaying image at upload

Did you try the html uplaod form, on the uplaod page.
Could you try to send and synchronise by the ftp method? Just some test pictures
Thx

Send/Synchronise by FTP method? (Don't have a FTP program atm)

Sorry, not yet that smart to really understand this.

There is a tab about that on the upload page. Use Fillezilla.

Well you're managing a Web hosting which means you will learn a few things. But there is plenty answers of your question around the Web

Re: Problem with displaying image at upload

I didn't really found anything that says HTML.

But on the upload page I tried the old version uploader and I downloaded the pLoader. Both do not work.

The FTP version is kinda hard for me.

With Filezilla, what must I enter at "Host", "Nickname", "Pasword",  'Poort"? I worked with it once for DeviantART. And that was quite easy. But not yet tried it on my site.

Re: Problem with displaying image at upload

ok thx
I'm nice : you can forget the Ftp ;-)
Although I only can advise you to learn how to use it. Your hosting provider should have sent the connexion settings; if not, contact them.

When you make your tries, is it the same picture? What are its dimension and size? That's strange it succeeded in uploading some pictures and not others

Re: Problem with displaying image at upload

Dear flop25.

In the beginning a lot of pictures still worked but then the new uploads didn't do it anymore, didn't matter which size I uploaded it (small 600 x 800 or 3000 x 2000). I re-installed my site, in the hope that worked, but that didn't and still it doesn't matter which size I upload. I always upload files with JPEG format. (As in I edit them in Adobe Photoshop (always did so), then place the watermark (always did so) and then upload it to the website.

Don't think my webhost send me. But somewhere it should be found. I use webhostwinkel for my site.
