I see that Mystic100 has been assigned to the task of changing JSmin to JavaScriptPacker as mentioned in the roadmap
Bug 0002663
I'm not sure what the history of this bug is, but I would really like to see it resolved. I've been watching the bug, and it seems to keep getting pushed back to later releases
I am a debian linux user, and newer versions of piwigo are being held out of the debian package repository because of this non-free licensing issue. Currently, Debian users are stuck with piwigo 2.1.2 until this issue gets resolved.
You can see the debian bug report
Thank you for all that you do. Piwigo is great!!

Since JSmin is only a JS minimizer, would it be possible for piwigo to work without it? I'm not saying remove it, but maybe piwigo could check for jsmin and if it doesn't exist, it wouldn't try to use it?
Just a thought.
