Hey guys,
I'm looking for a function that seems to be pretty common but can't find any similar request or any evidence that Piwigo supports that already:
I do have a big set of tags/keywords in my Gallery. I would like to grant access to images by special keywords. E.g. if I do have an image where on of my keywords is "susann" I would like to hide it to the user "wife" ;-)
I'm just kidding with the example but I guess you see my point.
Thanks for your support.
Cheers!

This is a really good feature request. I have around 35.000 photos in my gallery and over 900 Tags. At the moment I handle the permission over albums but it is difficult if you want to share with specific users just a few photos from a album.
Best greetings

So the question for now would be, is that an available feature and I didn't find it yet? Even some kind of workaround would be fine :-)
Cheeeeeers!

You can of course grant permissions to a subset of images in an album to users or to a group but it will not be dynamic and not as easy as tags.
I think it could be an interesting feature but it will need database schema modifications. So not so easy to implement. :-(

And what about some kind of workaround like using dynamic albums only.
So like I put all images into one album which is hidden to all users by default and then I add dynamic albums which only grant access to different criterias of the images that are all stored in the hidden album (like GPS-coordinates, date, tags).
Would such an approach work?
Since everyone is using tags more and more I'd think such a feature would be a great addition to piwigo :-)

Okay, so as it seems not to be doable today, could someone move this threat to the "Requests" section :-)

Hi guys,
so now that 2.5 is released, what would be a good process to let you guys check my request?
I guess such a feature would be a great addition to piwigo and since it needs changes to the DB structure I guess it can't be implemented be an extension.
Cheers :-)
