Hi zaphod,
How does stripped decide to show or not show the zoom button when hovering in the middle of a picture?
The image pages in my gallery display the medium size derivatives. When my originals are 1024x1536 px, portrait photos, the zoom button appears, but when the original is a 1536x1024 px landscape photo, the zoom button is not available. This happens regardless of the size of my browser window.
I would like the zoom button to be available every time the original is larger than the medium sized derivative.

That's something that have been already asked and that makes sense.
Currently, the zoom button appears only if there is an image available that is bigger that the one displayed.

Does this happen for both the horizontal dimension and the vertical one or only one of them?

It's the same for both.
What is your configuration of medium size derivative?
What is your configuration of HD picture in stripped parameters?
Do you have a link where I can see what happens on your gallery?

It's probably linked to the size of XXL picture.
If the Original is not bigger to XXL size dimensions, Piwigo considers that there is no original, but an xxl picture.
I've got to make some modification in stripped to take this into account.
(not sure how I will handle this...)

Ok, I found how to do it, this will be corrected in next version.

Well done, that's a relief.

I have been thinking further about the issue of photo sizes and how they affect Zoom in the Stripped Theme.
It seems that at present Zoom is used if the Image size is larger than the 'highest checked' photo size.
For the Stripped Theme, these photos sizes (L, XL and XXL) have no other real purpose if you set the 'Image Size' for the Theme as 'M' Medium.
As a result, I have unchecked XL and XXL so that Zoom only happens if the Image Size is larger than the 'L' Large as I don't want Zoom for Images only a little larger than 'M' Medium.

Hello Tadjio and Zaphod:
Seems like a reasonable idea to say that zoom is controlled by the largest checked size, but the largest I've ever had checked is Medium and I still have the zoom/noonzoom behavior based on whether my originals are landscape or portrait: orginal available is certainly larger than medium, but only vertical (portrait) images can be zoomed.

Please give a link so I can see what can cause this.
I will also need a screenshot of your detailled image photo size config page.

If your M setting is, let's say, 1600x1024, then:
- a 1536x1024 image is already displayed at its original size, so no zoom button
- a 1024x1536 image will be resized to fit in a 1600x1024 rectangle, with a zoom button to display the original
If it's the case then the behavior is what is expected.
If not, then please give some more details as I said in the previous post.
(If there is a bug, i need to be able to reproduce it in order to understand it.)

Hi guys,
Believe it or not, I totally messed up last Sunday night and deleted the virtual disk on which my Linux server was running at the same time as I deleted some other experimental vhd's. I'm going to have to rebuild the whole installation. Thankfully, all my photos reside on a different physical hard drive. I'll send you links when it's ready and if I still have the same problem.
I'm thinking that the display size I was seeing may not have been the true M size, since I think I had auto-size enabled. We'll see.

Hi, I just upgraded from 2.3 to 2.5 and have been fighting a bit to get my old functionality back. I use skin stripped, which I really like.
Some observations:
- I am surprised to see that XXL-images are scaled down based on the largest size. With a horizontal panorama, you want to scale to a fixed height (the smaller dimension). Different panorama's may have a different width, so that dimension should be free. Theme Stripped is excellent at scrolling through your panorama at full size, so having an image larger than your window is no problem.
- I would like to see the ability not to resize XXL images at all, just let me take care of that myself when I generate the images from RAW. Some examples of panorama-like images:
Vertical panorama
Rectangular panorama
Horizontal panorama
- In general I am not happy with the system applying lossy jpg-compression, after I already have done that myself when I created the jpg-image. Luckily, if you set (for instance) XL to 1280*1280 and generate your images from RAW with a largest size of 1280 pixels, piwigo will not generate new images in folder '_data/i/...'.
Right now (in 2.5) , I have set my normal view to XL-images (1280*1280). Since its size is smaller than the defined size for XXL images (which I set at 1281*1281), it will not generate XXL-images. I then put my hand generated XXL jpg-file (with -xx extension) for my panorama in the appropriate subdirectory of '_data/i/...' and piwigo allows me to view the panorama.
Please do not break this functionality in future updates, please, please.
