I would really like to be able to share links to a specific image size of an image.
I would image the flow like that:
When selecting an alternative image size in the image size chooser, not only will the image be changed via javascript, but the url would also be changed (adding for example a hashtag for javascript) so that the new, chosen image size would be distributable via link.

This specifically targets people who don't want to, or are unable to find the image size selector.
