Hi there,
I have switched between Zenphoto an Piwigo in the last time - because I like the blog feature of Zenphoto (zenpage plugin).
On the other side, the 'pure' gallery of Piwigo is my favorite.
Today I took the time to test how I can realize a blog in Piwigo.
Here is a kind of 'workaround' with the additional pages plugin.
The result can be viewed on my (german) site:
http://www.pixel-wonders.de
Just choose 'Artikel' from the left menu :-)
What I have done:
Created two pages named 'Places' and 'tipps' which serve as a kind of categories.
All other pages are set to hidden in the Additional pages settings - so in the menu you will only see the 'categories'.
Those categorie pages are linked to the other pages.
The funny part:
In the Additional Pages folder you find a folder called "Distributed" where the template for the standalone homepage is stored.
What you might not know:
You can create your own templates. In my case I created a template which holds the the 'menu' on the right (places, tipps, suche) and the small navbar at the bottom (zurück - los geht's).
Example here:
http://www.pixel-wonders.de/index/page/places
This way it is only a minimal work you have to do with the navbar on the bottom when creating new pages.
If someone is interested I can give you more details.
@Piwigo Team: If you like I'll put it in the wiki :-)
Cheers
Ralf

Hi,
had a first look at the german wiki - seems that it is completly empty :-)
I will see if i find the time to work on it - i have already login data for the english wiki - those do not work with the german one.

I think the English wiki is much more a priority than others even the French 'main' wiki, then translators could translate from english. But if Ralph has the time, why not ^^
Ralph, each 'language part' of piwigo.org has its own database of users

No problem,
I think the biggest user base is able to understand english.
There might be more german people speaking english than non-germans understanding german :-)
I'll go with the english one.
