Is there a way to prevent the viewer form being able to dowload
pictures from the web site? :?: :?:

If you can view a picture, you can save it locally. There is NOTHING you can do to prevent it. I've seen people try to disable right-clicking with javascript, but all you have to do is turn javascript off. I've seen people go so far as to display pictures in Flash and java applets. Guess what? You can whip out your trusty screencap program simply and easily.
