Hi folks,
I installed the latest version of Piwigo a few days ago and loaded my older Gallery2 based albums, plus a few new folders freshly uploaded. So far, I'm very happy - easy, beautiful and fast.
The only issue I am struggling with is user rights. I wanted to have essentially 3 albums - one to be visible publicly without login, one album A visible to user group A, and one album B visible to user group B.
So I created groups A and B, albums A and B, and set permissions on the albums.
However, the users only see the albums according to the group permissions if I set the user status to "Administrator"! The public album is invisible to all unless I set a group permission there too.
I have tried to find some documentation that explains how the user status, privacy level and groups interact, but couldn't find anything current - any pointers welcome.
Piwigo version: 2.6.3
PHP version: 5.3.3
MySQL version: 5.1.73
Thanks

Hello
are you sure you didn't use levels of privacy per pictures?

Not deliberately - could this have happened by some mistake when importing images?
How would one detect or reset this?

use the Batch manager or edit per picture

I used the batch manager on all photos with action = "who can see these photos" = "everybody", is that what you meant? It changed nothing - a user still has to be status=Administrator to see anything.

yep that was that
are the albums locked?

a few of the sub-albums only. problem?

I'm still stuck - is there any documentation on how the various permission settings are supposed to work, e.g. some pseudocode that explains which takes precedence?

could I have a admin access?

Thanks for the offer - pls see PM

See the album "Familie / 2014 / August / 08-16 ***" Now Familie members can see it where as before no ; why ? because every single sub album containing photos is locked in Families! That's not a few That's all!

I said a few because I locked a few manually, I surely did not manually lock hundreds!
Is it possible the Menalto import script (the perl version) did this?
How does one bulk-unlock albums?
