Re: Uploaded photos not showing

Hello all.

Posted this on another upload image problem.

I had the same problem today.  The only change since my update to Piwigo 2.6.3 was an Adobe flash player 15.0.0.152 update.  I figured out the flash uploader wad not working and rolled back to FireFox version 14.  Now everything is working again.  Seems to be a flash player problem, at least for me.

Re: Uploaded photos not showing

Hi Whitst,

I had the same problem tonight.  Have had 2.6.3 for a while, all of a sudden could not do a flash upload.  Found out is was an Adobe Flash Player update to 15.  Uninstalled my flash player went to Adobe site archives and put flash player 14 for FireFox on and now everything works.

Re: Uploaded photos not showing

Thanks for the update.  I am using Google Chrome as my browser.  I retested everything with IE 8 with exact same results.  Upload appears to work but only broken thumbnails result.  I then thought about going back and using ploader.exe (1.6 for Windows).   Now when I attempt to connect using ploader with my admin user, ploader just disappears and does not even give me a login error.

I then went and tried to add photos to another Piwigo site (running 2.6.3) and found an interesting difference between the two Add Photos screens:
**************  Notice that the 2.7 Add Photos allows a drag and drop and the 2.6.3 does not
**************  Notice that the 2.6.3 allows the user to switch to Browser uploader.
**************  I just noticed these differences
**************  I remember that when I first started experiencing problems I had tried both the Flash Uploader and then the Browser uploader with the same results.

Re: Uploaded photos not showing

I do not know what you mean by "uploader has nothing to do here".  My post was taken directly from the results of clicking on "Add Photos".  In version 2.6.3, the user was allowed to choose between "Flash" uploader" and "Browser uploader" as can be seen in my screen capture.  How have you answered my question?

Also, on this post I have attached my PHP info for gd settings.  I do not know if this attachment is useful or not.  I am having severe problems in getting all of my PHP info (13 pdf pages) into an image that is acceptable as an attachment (1200x1000 pixels and <1024 KB).  If I can give you any other PHP settings, please let me know.

can you try to switch on GD $conf['graphics_library'] = 'gd';

I just found this [Forum, post 141612 by rvelices in topic 21539] 3) I see the thumbnails, but nothing or missing pictures on the public

If it works, warn your host their installation of Imagemagik is faulty

Re: Uploaded photos not showing

I would try that except that I do not know what file to change or how to do that from within Piwigo.
Thanks for the update.  I did see that in my configuration:

On hoster where 2.6.3 is working:
Graphics Library: External ImageMagick 6.5.4-7

On hoster where 2.7 is not working:
Graphics Library: External ImageMagick 6.7.9-10

Re: Uploaded photos not showing

Success!

I found where to reconfigure the 'graphics_library' ($conf['graphics_library'] = 'gd').

The file to change is:
<Piwigo installation directory>/include/config_default.inc.php

I changed the line:
$conf['graphics_library'] = 'auto'
to
$conf['graphics_library'] = 'gd'

Add Photos now works again on my site.

I am currently checking with my host company (justhost.com) to see how ImageMagick, PHP and Piwigo play together since I do not want to be in the position of changing this file every time I upgrade Piwigo.

Thanks for the help and I am sorry that I did not follow up on your previous post about changing the GD configuration in Piwigo.
