Re: Fotorama: Suggestions & Corrections

Hello
My initial idea was to use push unshift wcith web service calls. Then I saw that fotorama caches several dom nodes for every active frame. So Im not quite sure when the browser will explose because of memory.

This is also why i proposed to reload the page.

Anyway for thumbnails if present we could reload the page at current +390

And of course 1000 100 400 were examples. We could even use different numbers for desktops vs mobiles.

Re: Fotorama: Suggestions & Corrections

Ok i let my 4k photos slideshow run on my desktop with firefox and chrome.
Firefox made it to the end with an extra 1gb of ram use.
Chrome crashed somewhere in the middle.

So I think my solution is not the best one but easy to implement and satisfactory (of course its my point of view)

JanisV,  would you like me to give it a try ? Thanks

Re: Fotorama: Suggestions & Corrections

I tried with 2k photos - my Crome crashed too, with 500 photos - work good but starts with delay.

For me problem in PWG Stuffs and Advanced menu manager. Some links like Recent pictures or Random quote go to a very big image set (all available images). Will be better when this links point to the image in it's own album.

But your way for large image set should work, please try it. Also may be good idea load about 100 images, start Fotorama and asynchronously add the remaining images (with push and unshift methods) - it may help for remove delay before start (for not a very large set).

The problem is that we should also remove items (not only push/unift), otherwise chrome will still crash...
I'll look into it this week.

I also reported another anoying bug here: http://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p … 06#p155006
I dont know if its clear for you the reason it fails ... I could elaborate...

Well, the corresponding plugins such as Embedded Videos should implement the trigger and set video and video_id (youtube and vimeo only work with fotorama)

Re: Fotorama: Suggestions & Corrections

Hello,

Thanks for this great plugin Fotorama, I really likes it very much.
I am using it with Piwigo 2.7.1 and theme Stripped.

I would find useful if during the slideshow, we could see the description of the photos. I use descriptions to give explanation of the context of the photo, and so, without them, some slideshows loose their interest.
In my case, descriptions are often a short sentence or few words.

Wouldn't it be possible to see them in one of the corner of the screen, or below the picture ?

Thanks again for your work on this plugin !
