Today I am testing the new Album Sort Order features and the ability to amend the Photo Creation Date.

My initial comment regarding Album Sort Order is that we shouldn't have the word 'Automatic' before it in the phrase "apply automatic sort order".

Secondly, is it possible for the display to show the last Sort Order used? (rather than always showing "Album name, A → Z")

I will continue testing with some sample data I have uploaded, changing the Creation Date...

My testing of 'Album Sort Order' is succesful.
I used two sub-albums and tried all the combinations of Sort Order.
I then edited the Creation Date of all the photos in one album and confirmed that the Sort Order by Creation Date still works.

So, Tadjio, you recommend "Sort order", "Sort albums", "Apply sort order" ? (or something else)

Also see this problem - no support numeric sort order (sorting by file names 1-9 or A-Z). I have uploaded thousands of photos that named from 001 to 4000 in different albums. But they are sorted as 001, 010, 0100, 0101. It is possible to change for proper sorting as 001, 002, 003, 004 and so on ? I use stripped theme if this important.

UPD:
solved by custom edit conf file:

$conf['order_by_custom'] = ' ORDER BY LENGTH(file), file ASC';
$conf['order_by_inside_category'] = $conf['order_by'];
