Hi!
I would like to link pict in small size instead of thumbnail or fullsize.
similarly, having the gallery address predefined in the settings would avoid the one step of selected it each time!
Not that I want to make ads here, as the two plugins are very different, but the PiwigoPress plugin allows for these kind of things. https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/piwigopress

Well, piwigomedia hasn't been updated in nearly a year so any alternatives are welcome if they get some regular attention

Hi Michael,
if you look at the releases on github or wordpress or the main page, you see that there is quite some activity. Of course new features are added if either I need them myself, or someone asks for them - and preferably send patches ;-)

Maybe this has been already fixed on Github version but it says it is same version number as what is on WP site, so I'll ask here...
I have new WP install, including PWMedia and PWPress. I also have new PW install at http://www.polywogg.ca/photos/. There are only 30 photos so far (rebuilding from old 5000+ site, sigh). However, when I go to WP, click on the PWMedia button, choose my site from the dropdown, the popup goes into an endless "waiting" loop where the little icon is turning, but it never gives me the list of photos. Same for demo site.
Any suggestions?

Hi Paul,
that is really strange. I can only guess that your browser is disabling javascript or filtering something. I have tried it with your PWG installation at http://www.polywogg.ca/photos/ and had no problems at all. I could fetch both the latest photos as well as the list of albums in an instant, less than 1sec.
In case you are running Firefox, can you try to open the Developers Console and see what the JavaScript log says? That is all done in javascript, so it might be that one of your plugins is blocking that.
Anyway, here there are no problems with your PWG installation, and I could select and load images without any problem, all with the normal released version.

Thanks Norbusan...
Weird. Blocks it in IE too. I found an error called "Weak Signature Algorithm" and it says "This site makes use of a SHA-1 Certificate; it's recommended you use certificates with signature algorithms that use hash functions stronger than SHA-1.[Learn More]" but doesn't look like the problem. I wonder if it is a conflict with another plugin or my theme. Shouldn't be, I had all of them running before.

Okay, so I deactivated all my plugins and changed my theme. No change. Definitely looks like a browser problem but I deactivated all my browser stuff too. Grrr....

Weird x 5...I've disabled all plugins and gone with vanilla theme for the WP installation. Others can access my site and the demo so it's not on the Piwigo end.
I tried disabling EVERYTHING in Firefox, plus clearing everything from cache/cookies/etc., vanilla browser version. Still won't access the database.
Could it be something on the hosted server with Java that could be interfering with my "look-up"? I don't even know what to look for.
Nobusan -- you suggested using the console but there is a web console and a browser console -- which one should be active? And which sub-element of those consoles are likely to be what I'm looking for?

Okay, this is just plain NUTS. I spent 2 hours down a JS rabbithole, including wiping out Firefox twice, deleting any settings backups, trying the Great Britain version (don't ask, that was a separate nightmare). For a while it really looked like a JS problem. I just plain couldn't get the pop up to work (ignoring the fact that JS was working well enough to load the popup itself, which was messing with my head).
I finally decided maybe it just flat out couldn't find the site. I got Piwigo Press to work, not pretty but able to see the site, so tried PW Media with same settings, no dice. Finally I went crazy...I entered every config possible for the address for the two sites (demo plus my own). Here's the list of choices just for my site, http in or out, final slash in or out, www in or out, etc.:
http://www.polywogg.ca/photos
http://www.polywogg.ca/photos/
www.polywogg.ca/photos
www.polywogg.ca/photos/
http://polywogg.ca/photos
http://polywogg.ca/photos/
polywogg.ca/photos
polywogg.ca/photos/
They're all the same, right? Apparently not.
It doesn't like the www part for some reason. Any one of those last four options will WORK just fine. Not a JS error, some sort of config link error. I have no idea what, but I can now pull my site in. Sigh.

Yep, it's still wonky, four years later.
I connected a new site, and it looks like WP as the root install has security features in the security plugins that are affecting lower level folders. A conflict in the firewall block. But if I put in polywogg.ca/folder, it works FINE.
Almost like I trick it into thinking it's on a different server, so it bypasses the firewall somehow.

I found the conflict through a bit of trial and error. The WordPress security plugin has an option to block bad query strings. That blocks the plugin from pulling up the directory listing from lower in the hierarchy
Which kind of makes sense -- Piwigo itself isn't part of the WP installation, it's just below it, so it would want to limit queries in WordPress only to things that would be part of standard WP install, not wonky locations in sub folders.
Anyway, multiple security plugins have the same protection. So if you install WordPress in your root (or some other CMS) and you isntall Piwigo in a sub-directory of that root, disable the bad query controls on the main application so that your plugin can see your installation.
