I am a new user of Piwigo and noticed that some of my photos have an asterisk next to them and some don't. Please tell me how to remove the asterisks or explain why the asterisk is there.
Thanks,
Ron

Do you mean the small yellow images?
If so, just hover over them to see an explanation. Mine say "photos posted in the last 7 days", though it says that for both the "!" icons and the arrow icons.
But I don't know how to remove them.

Okay - to disable them go to the Administration -> Configutation -> Options, tab Display and uncheck the " Activate icon new next to albums and pictures".

Thanks for the reply patman but I am afraid I did not explain my problem very good. The asterisk is a faded grey color as seen in the attached photo and it only shows up (as far as I know) on albums.

Hi Ron and Patman,
The "look & feel" of the "asterisk" depends on the theme you use, but the explanation given by Patman is perfect :-)

fixed! unchecking the activate icon .... box did the trick. Thanks patman.
plg, you were spot on. switch from stipped to elegant made a difference on how the icon looked. Whenever I see an asterisk I look down at the bottom of the page to see what it means. Maybe the author of the stripped theme could make it more clear.
