HI,
I am a newly to piwigo and am having trouble with installation. The error message is "Cannot connect to server" after pushing the "Start Installation" button. I assume the server in reference is the MySQL database server. I am using another database on this server for a wordpress page. My Web service sets the DB name and user name for me as indicated below. I can connect to the DB using phpMyAdmin and the info below. I have tried this a few times to be sure that the info was typed correctly, but with the same results. I know that the same questions has been posted previously, yet the written suggestions did not help me. I have tried "localhost". Perhaps someone can give me another suggestion. I have not deleted any of the files created by the installation script. The DB password uses uppercase and digits.

hi wnlight,
I am also new to piwigo, however id suggest contacting your host (i think is 1&1)
and see if they will provide you the needed mysql information. (if you can have more than 1 mysql)
also just a suggestion to remove the link you used for security reasons (it leads to your setup)

Thanks spacres,

I think that I already have all the MSQL database and server info that Piwigo needs. The auto-gen simply does not work. I will look at the manual setup. Am also looking at other products.

Sorry but we can't really help. I can assure you it works otherwise we wouldn't have many worldwide users for a french based project started 14 years ago ;)
since you have a wordpress install check for info in https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp- … e_Settings especially the host
