I,
I have read that Piwigo 2.9 should have an automatism to keep the history small.
Are there any further informations about this?
I can not find any settings in the backend.
The 'Prune History' plugin does not work out of the box anymore, because it looks for a column 'summarize' in the history table which no longer exists.
cheers

Hi,
thanks a lot - found it.
One last question - default for "keeping lines in history" is 1 Million lines :
$conf['history_autopurge_keep_lines'] = 1000000;
Do you have an idea how big the database will be with this value?
With 300 visits a day, the default means that the history will be kept for nearly 10 years.
A very last question:
It is only the history that will be purged not the summary - correct?
Cheers
Ralf

I don't know exactly how long the lines are, but if we assume it's 50 characters (50 bytes) on average, then that would be 50MB.

The idea behind auto-purge is to keep the database as small as relevant. A small database means a faster dump/reload = more often backups = peace of mind :-)
The system is smart, the summary is not purged and Piwigo does not purge history lines that were not summarized ;-)

Thanks for clearification :-)
