Hello Piwigo Beta-Testers!
A new beta version is ready for Piwigo 2.10. We still need you to test it and send us your feedback.
And remember: it is a beta version, meant to be used for test only. Do not use it on your production website.
1) Changes
To learn more about new features of Piwigo 2.10, you can read the previous announcement announcement for 2.10 beta1.
Here is the list of changes compared to Piwigo 2.10.0beta1. First the changes for users:
* automatically hide the Newsletter subscribe link once subscribed
* [album manager] move breadcrumbs outside page title
* deactivate user comments by default
* the "check for upgrade" action was moved from the dashboard to the maintenance page
... and then more "technical" changes:
* bugs were fixed with recent versions of MySQL (reserved words "groups" or "rank")
* phpmailer is fixed for PHP 7.2+
* we have simplified source code headers in all PHP files (the years are moved to a dedicated COPYING file)
* comment_list.tpl is no longer included in template file, see [doc] Technical changes in Piwigo 2.10 for theme creators
2) Screenshots
The administration dashboard now comes with colors!
The administration dashboard in our new dark mode.
The redesigned upload form in dark mode, while an upload is in progress. We've made it simpler, visually speaking.
Compared to 2.10.0beta1, the breadcrumbs was moved from the page title to a dedicated position inside the tab.
The "check for upgrade" action is now available on the Maintenance page.
3) Start to beta test
Download Piwigo 2.10.0beta2
If you can't install it but want to test it, just ask and we will happily provide a testing installation.
Please, open a new topic in the beta testing forum for each problem you may encounter.
Happy beta-testing :-)

I'll surely try Piwigo 2.10 beta, if found any bug will let you know.
Thanks for the notification.
Piwigo Fan...!
I will of course both test and upgrade, but as it is right now I am concerned about hot linking of images for one of my Piwigo sites.
Currently a couple of my members share uploaded pictures as follows, an example:
https://shots.lotrokin.me/i.php?/upload … c1d-xl.jpg
/i.php/upload/date+something-random.extension .
I really hope that will continue working or it will be a hassle, bordering on a showstopper. It has been hotlinked that way on many places, most notably a game forum and Facebook.
Before you ask me why we did it this way, I must say I posted a question on the forums asking about the "correct" way to hotlink, and above should be fine according to information available at that time: [Forum, topic 28290] Persistent hot linking.
