Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

An awesome plugin.

I would like to suggest some things be added to the to-do if possible.

1. Edit album info
2. Move photos between albums
3. Set album thumbnail
4. Search for duplicates

Kind regards
Radjin~

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

Just trying to get a link that displays for each user so they can go straight to their albums without having to navigate all the categories?  I've asked in "how to" but I thought it might be better here, given it's a community related thing?

Sorry if it's crossposting, but users are asking for this by the dozen.

Another suggestion: It would be nice to sort the permissions page. If you have a lot of items it's hard to find.

Another suggestion:

On the verify/reject page: An option to limit the number displayed. When you get to high numbers the interface gets very slow on some devices.

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

First I would like to say that this plugin is absolutely essential to the way I run a couple of sites, without it, or an equivalent, the upload, storage and hosting of our images would be severely crippled. Plg, please keep it updated.

As for features, well:

I had a discussion with one of my fellow admins on a site I run and we agreed that it would be nice if we could get file size upload limits within the different trusted settings in the community plugin. We already have images above 24MB in size and these are not even HD photography but screenshots and images from a game, so in order to try to make an effort to not upload images of higher quality than needed and thus save some server space, we would like to be able to selectively impose this restriction. We are aware of php upload limits, but that is not a selective limit.

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

Is it possible with this plugin to disallow users from adding photos at all, but still allow them to make their own albums from existing "public" photos?

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

To whom it may concern:

I need this plugin to automatically create a new album on every user connect .

I need the permissions to default to the user only !

Any guess as to how I can get that done as it sits ?

OS: FreeBSD-13.0-RELEASE.
Database: MySql 5.7
Web Page: http://TheLargerOcean.net
Piwigo : 12.2 ?

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

It does create a new album based on what you defined as root album. Every user has their own space in which they can add images , or more albums, depending on the setting you implement.

User with album only has access to their album.

That is how it works by default. Are you having issues with this not working?

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

I am not sure whether I set correctly, but I have found with Community plugin, it only works for browsers on computer, if login from Piwigo on iOS, the user whose status is user, cannot see the album which Community plugins created for him. In browser, it works, I could click upload.

In App, only if I set this user as administrator, he could see the album (Community/username) and upload. But if I set this user as administrator, it means he could enter administration panel and could see all the albums.

I am thinking maybe consider to set another level between administrator and user, such as power-user, allow them to manage content include photos/tags only, not allow to manage user/group/albums/, that will be better.

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

You could use the Permissions tab for that. Just saying so you don't confuse it with the general User Permissions...

It is kinda interesting it behaves that way in app or phone, I did not know about that, then again, I never use the app and I browse the sites 99% on a computer.

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

Hi all,

Has there been any update yet as to the PHP issue on the Config page (I believe it's an issue supporting PHPO 8.x)?

I only recently found Piwigo and have moved through to using the community plugin, only to have this issue appear as I think I've found a good solution to manage my photos :)

Thanks in advance - this will be perfect for my needs if/when fixed.

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

There are two that I would like to see added to the community upload plug-in:

1) The option to require a name, Email address, and mailing address of anyone who uploads photos.
Someone has done this partially for us, but only for name and Email address, and they are combined into
    one field.
2) The ability to provide a separate description for each photo uploaded.
Right now, if someone uploads multiple photos, they can provide only one description.
Otherwise they have to repeat the upload process for each individual photo,
which would be a pain if they also have to enter their name, Email address and Mailing address each time.

Thank you for your consideration.

Re: Community plugin, new generation for Piwigo 2.2+

Since this thread is linked via the plugin page... https://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=303

I have noticed that under a certain condition members are not able to add sub albums.
This happens when the Member album is defined as being in the root of the Gallery. Not as a sub album.

In the below screenshot Member Albums are defined as a sub album in the Gallery, as in /root/Member Album/Member/

https://i.imgur.com/6SVMqTi.png

Everything works as intended, I presume.

However, when the member albums are defined as root in the Gallery (as in root/Member/, this happens

https://i.imgur.com/faFKry7.png

The controls for adding sub albums do not work.

Why is that?
