Piwigo 2.11 beta4
For beta3 I said it was certainly the last batch of visual changes for Piwigo 2.11. I was wrong. We have a bit more with this beta4! But not only visual changes.
Piwigo 2.11 gets a new tool to search amon all your albums. I guess it will be very useful to many administrators
If you're opening from a mobile device (and iphone or ipad, for now), the web administration in Piwigo will promote the Piwigo app to open/install. Can be activated on the gallery too. Or completely deactivated.
* Now you can log in with your email address instead of your username. First Piwigo checks if the provided credentials matches a username, if not we check among email addresses
* The database dump feature proposed on the update page has been removed. It was no longer working with recent versions of PHP. It is replaced by a simpler message to always have a backup of files and database.

I was hoping for a search feature within albums.

Visitors already have it, sort of. With the quick search, the results show the list of albums matching the words.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but the search only returns a list of images, but not the list of albums?!
As far as I see in your screenshot, your new feature does return a list of albums, which I like :-)

I understand. I agree it would be nice on gallery side too (but maybe a bit complicated for visitors).

You are right! Albums are shown (but not in clear theme or smartpocket theme). I just liked that you also show the "path" to the album. So if you have several albums like "patricias's birthday" in every year, you can also see which one to select.
Can't you just copy this feature for the visitors to use, too? (sorry if dumb question)

It's not a dumb question :-)
Adding such a feature on gallery side is "much" more complicated than on admin side. Indeed on admin side, we only have one template (and 2 colorschemes). On gallery side, this new screen would not be compatible with all themes, making the theme incompatible with Piwigo 2.11.
Maybe the best solution would be to have a plugin which adds this "search for albums" page on gallery side. It would be less problematic for compatibility and even if I love this feature, I'm really not sure it would be loved by the majority of Piwigo users.
