I'm using Piwigo on my LAN just to see my pics on a map. I have 100GB of photos on my 500GB drive. I'd like to point Piwigo to a folder on an external 2TB drive.
How can I do that?
I'm on a Mac/Big Sur with 16GB of RAM. Since this is only for the three members of my family on our home network, speed and other usual considerations don't matter much, if at all.
Thanks.

Hi Joel aka spinhead,
I'm a GNU/Linux user, I don't know Mac very much, but if you know how to choose the mounting point of your external device, you may have the begining of a solution. Otherwise, maybe a symbolic link put in (piwigo)/galleries/folder/ can do the stuff.
Remember you can find some answers by using the search box of the forum. I picked this one for you:

One of the first things I did after installing a was replace /galleries, /uploads and /_data with symbolic links to folders on my large media drive

There might be a couple of issues to look at .
One might be a link ln -s to remote storage, if it is going to be available 24/7.
Samba might be something to look at for those possibilities.
That is what comes to mind immediatelly.

Thanks, all. Guess I'll go brush up on symlinks. Haven't done full *NIX admin in something like 25 years.
FYI, MacOS is a thin veneer on top of some flavor of UNIX so if UNIX can do it, Mac can, too. Mostly.
I searched but apparently didn't use any of the phrases in that solution. Thanks for the link.

As mentioned, symlinks of the _data, upload, and galleries folders are the way to go.
