Hello
A new user here.
I just installed piwigo 12.0.0.beta 2 locally on my Linux Mint machine. I managed to install a couple of plugins, a theme, and transfer via ftp a tree of multilevel albums and some 3000 images and synchronize them. All went well and I'm happy. At this point I would need also a personalized front page, and a few boxes here and there so I thought to use the PWG_Stuffs plugin. However it does not appear among the installable plugins, even if the latest updates seem to be very recent. I would like to test it anyway, so can anybody please tell me how can I install this plugin manually? Simply putting it in the folder 'plugins' does not work. Probably some file has to be edited, but which?
Thanks
Tom

k5, thanks for your reply.
Actually that's exactly what I did. But after copying PWG_Stuffs into the plugin folder, it still does not show in the enabled/disabled plugin admin page. I tried closing and opening again the site, restarting Apache ... but no dice.
There must be some criteria that Piwigo follows when populating the available plugins from the 'plugins' folder, and that is what I'd like to know.
If all fails I will try to follow the code, but my experience with PHP is not very recent to say the least.

Just tested on Piwigo 12 (master) and no specific problem BUT I'm on PHP 7.3.28. Maybe PWG Stuffs has a specific issue with PHP 8.
Matthieu, can you give a look?

plg, thanks for your reply.
After reading your post, I downgraded my PHP to 7.3 but nothing has changed. I still can't see PWG Stuffs among my plugins.
Perhaps you can tell me how Piwigo decides which plugins to show or not on the admin plugins page? That would be helpful.
On the other side perhaps I managed to break something while configuring the site (several plugins were installable but didn't work) and a reinstall would be better ...

Piwigo just look for a main.inc.php file
that's all
Check if it's there, but I've inspected the zip file provided here and everything is in order

Thanks Flop25, yes the file is there.
What is not there is my brain. I just found the (very silly) error: I forgot to change the permissions on the PWG_Stuffs folder. I did it on the other plugin folder, but this was the last one to add, and I somehow forgot.
Ok, it's a silly error on my part, but a message from Piwigo about not being able to open a plugin folder could be useful perhaps.
Thanks to you all, for your help!

<3 That's ok, ^^ that's a common "ghost" mistake
and unfortunately we can't trigger any warning since that from the Piwigo point of view the folder does not actually exist

Ah, is that so? Well, case closed then.
Thanks for your help again
