flushed everything flushable or deletable at Tools>Maintenance and nope, deleted the plugin, piwigo detected it was missing, unistalled it, then downloaded it and reinstalled it again.
Nope, gives an error. when trying to enable it...

"an error" is not very specific..

LOL ;-) more specifically: "an error occurred"

Checked the logs and there is no instance logged about the message that appears (the image posted) when you try to enable a plugin that's supposedly not compatible.

will make a post about this in troubleshooting, because it seems is not specifically related to gdThumb.

Serge,
I hope you see this. I have used yout gdThumb for years. A few days ago the main page of my gallery stopped displaying correctly. Seems it only allows for 3 columns.

But all the albums are fine, such as this one
https://www.f-106deltadart.com/piwigo/i … tegory/211
Any ideas why the opening gallery page would act this way all of a sudden?

Hi!
I'm not author of this plugin and sadly don't use Modus theme like you so I can't test it directly, but it seems the last Piwigo update (12.2.0) of that theme caused that bug.
More specifically the new css plugin_compatibility.css file (in folder \themes\modus\css), where:
.thumbnailCategories LI { width: 31% !important; margin-left: 15px !important; }
over-rulling gdThumb own css with wrong !important width.
You can try edit this rule in that file like this:
.thumbnailCategories LI { /* width: 31% !important; */ margin-left: 15px !important; }
and see, if it helps.
When I disabled the rule in browser web tools it looks good I think:
If it won't work, I'm sorry. Maybe someone else will find the real culprit.

Hi!
No problem, I'm glad I could help you.
(And maybe someone else has the same issue - in that case it should be fixed in some official Piwigo update - cause it seems that the css file should be used only with specific plugins (there is note "User Collections" and you have not that plugin ...) and the rule doesn't work well...).
I'm just happy user of this great plugin (thank you, Serge) and so I gladly share my experiences with it and Piwigo in general.
Especially I love how Piwigo works and can be adapted to specific user needs.
My PWG installation is heavily modified with many of my own modifications where I tried to make it even more useful for visitors of my page (for example custom modal settings for visitors without registration (saved in browser's local storage) with options for sticky menu, pics opening in new/same tabs, function to always fit opened pics to screen height (and click it for width fit), no. of pics/album per page, custom blacklist, autoscroll, scrollable long list of albums, retractable switches for panel closing/opening, swipe function for touch displays, search functions and build cache improvements, many new sort orders with fixed random order, changing automatically every day, general design changes etc.)
Sadly I don't know how to make a plugin(s) with these mods (I just directly edit the php/css/tpl files), so I can't share it (although they are very amateurish maybe they could be useful for someone, I think...) :-(

Hey,
I'm having a somewhat similar problem, my overall Gallery width seems to be restricted by something. Since i'm using ultra wide monitors that's very annoying, my gallery is only about 1/4 of my screen width right now.
I am not using Modus tho. I'm currently using:
GreyDragon theme Version 1.3.7
gdthumb version 1.0.24
Piwigo Version 12.2.0
The Problem exists since i updated piwigo from 11.X to the current version.
Everything was fine on 11.X
I did add
body { width: auto; }
to the Custom CSS Section, i also tried giving it a specific value like 1920px, but no luck so far. It seems like the argument gets ignored.
I also tried restoring the default settings and purging the pre-compiled things.
If someone can tell me what to look out for in terms of debugging i can provide more info.
Edit:
The Problem is that 'width' in
body.gd-no-fullscreen
doesn't get updated. Its stuck on 1270px

Hi!
I'm not using this theme (and by your description the problem is in its config) and didn't provide any link, but did you try to override it by simply adding:
body.gd-no-fullscreen { width: auto; }
to your custom css?

Wow, that worked perfectly...
I got the body.gd-no-fullscreen from just using firefox's dev tool, didn't expect it to be that simple :)
The 'body { width: auto; }' part is from the plugin documentation and should probably be updates with the new code since the old one doesn't work anymore (or at least it didn't for me, maybe someone should verify that first).
Thanks for your help tnovak :)
I should really start learning some html/css basics, it's not the first time something like this has bitten me...

Hi,
you are welcome :-)
Actually YOU correctly found the problematic code, using browser dev tools (just what I would do too - they are the best for debugging and testing this type of issues).
I just suggested the most simple solution.
So keep using Piwigo (with gdThumb), the best web gallery solution :-)
