Hello/Hi/Greetings,
After upgrading from 2.7.0, Piwigo reports that my Firefox browser is not HTML5 compatible (it is the latest Firefox) and so the upload method I prefer, and used prior to the update, is not available. Same in Chrome and Edge.
I get the message "Your browser doesn't have HTML5 support." (see attached screenshot).
This is puzzling because I have been using the drag/drop feature on this page for some time. It worked on my "old" computer, and on my current computer, until I upgraded to Piwigo 2.8.5.
I have tried numerous things, including trying to find the Firefox about:config settings that will do the trick, but nothing worked. Most of the Google hits have to do with YouTube video, so I got no help there.
So, if you have any insight into this problem, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Cheers,
f3

Thanks for the reply flop25.
As unlikely as it sounds, I did read that topic. The steps that I was able to complete included re-uploading all the piwigo files. I am uncertain about how to determine a priori what plugins are not compatible ... or do I have to disable them one at a time and test???

Also, another (admin) user reports the same behavior.

just the reupload in that case
so that's a server/PHP/Piwigo issue not a client side one
Could you check you server logs? may I have an admin acocunt please?

to be 100% sure, is http://www.plupload.com/examples working?

Sent requested info by email.

The plupload example you posted is the thing that is not working on my gallery.

Did you really reuploaded by overwriting existing files? Because I'm checking the old cases and they were resolved by just a reupload

Yes, I believe I did reupload the entire package - except for the directories listed in step 5 "Cleaning" of the manual upgrade instructions (galleries, upload, plugins, template-extension, local, and _data). And themes
I can reupload them again just to be absolutely certain - is there anything I should do different? And do I have to run the update after doing that?
I certainly appreciate you taking the time to give me assistance on this because I am a bit lost...
Thanks,
f3

^^ i am a bit lost too about that issue
delete the folders and files except the ones you mentioned (galleries, upload, plugins, template-extension, local, _data and themes) and upload again
ps: your login for the gallery is just fine I experienced myself the issue

Thanks flop25.
I will do that later today. I have to alert the users of the impending outage, and get things ready. I intend to download a new copy of the 2.8.5 install package and follow the manual update instructions (again).
I see that the update package contains files in the folders that are not to be deleted (galleries, upload, plugins, template-extension, local, _data and themes). Is it necessary to upload+overwrite those files?
Again, thanks for the helping hand.

perfectly safe to overwrite
usually I don't even recommend to delete anything but here we want to make sure the files are new ones with correct eprmissions

OK. THanks for that. And I agree completely about wanting to be sure. I think the automatic install ran into trouble with permissions and that is why it failed. However, after that, I did delete the folders & files (for the same reason) and re-created them. But who knows what happened? Maybe this time I will pay attention?
I shall report back later - I'm sure it will all work fine afterwards!

flop25 - that upload mode no longer give the HTML5 Error. If testing uncovers an issue, you'll be my first call.
